Quick Wonder develops and manufactures optical frames and sunglasses in China through OEM, ODM and joint development, or JDM. We are best suited to design-led eyewear brands building custom collections that need material and process engineering, physical samples and coordinated production.
Our contribution depends on your starting point: engineering review of a developed design, customization of an existing product direction, or collaborative development from a brand and product brief. The work can connect concept and material decisions to engineering information, samples, approved production requirements, manufacturing and agreed quality checks.
Your collection also needs a workable production profile. For acetate, mid- to high-end metal and titanium projects, our OEM planning references are 300 pcs per style and 100 pcs per color. Other categories have different minimums. Tooling, sample scope, timing, approvals and commercial terms are confirmed for the actual project.
What makes a design-to-production project a fit?
For a brand choosing a China eyewear OEM manufacturer, three connected decisions determine whether Quick Wonder belongs on the shortlist.
The development work you need. Your team may own a finished design, have selected a frame direction, or need help developing the product itself. We match that starting point to the engineering, customization or joint-development work required. Your brand direction, target customer and price position guide the proposal. Our guide to choosing an OEM, ODM or co-development route explains how design readiness affects that choice.
The product we need to engineer. Material, frame construction, hinges, surface finish and lens requirements affect the production route. Our manufacturing scope provides a basis for evaluation; the particular structure and components still need technical review.
The conditions under which you can proceed. Quantities by style and color, tooling, sampling, approval time and production readiness need to work together. A feasible design and an acceptable unit price are only part of the decision.
These are reasons to begin a project assessment with Quick Wonder. Before commissioning development or production, we also need to agree the deliverables, sample rounds, costs, rights, testing and responsibilities for your collection.
How we contribute to your product development
Bring a developed design for OEM engineering and manufacturing
For OEM work, provide your design and technical specifications, including drawings or CAD files, dimensions, materials, components and performance requirements. Include an authorized physical reference where applicable, along with branding, packaging, quantity, target market and timing.
Quick Wonder reviews manufacturability, materials, structure, processes, tooling, cost and lead time. We prepare or confirm the engineering drawings and specifications, recommend material or process changes where needed, and make samples within the agreed scope. Your team approves the relevant drawings, materials, colors, components and sample before production is released.
This route suits a brand that owns the product design and needs engineering review and manufacturing execution.
Develop an existing product direction through ODM
For ODM, bring the market and collection brief: customer, category, price range, style preferences, material direction, quantities and launch needs. We propose relevant existing Quick Wonder designs or product directions, then assess the agreed customization.
That work can include color, material and finish choices, structural details, logos, hardware and packaging. The resulting scope guides engineering, quotation and sampling. Your team selects and approves the direction and customized sample.
ODM gives a brand an existing development base. The depth of adaptation, new tooling and any requested exclusivity need to be defined for the project.
Build an earlier concept through joint development
JDM is relevant when your brand has a clear commercial and creative direction while product construction still needs development. Examples of how Quick Wonder may participate include:
You bring the brand and market brief. Your team defines the customer, price band, positioning and commercial feedback. Quick Wonder and our Italian design resource contribute trend and process research, explore possible process applications and develop targeted concept proposals for selected co-development projects.
You bring the trend or design direction. Your team supplies references, brand language, design elements, functional requirements and the intended user context. We develop those inputs into design language, engineering, material and process recommendations, samples and a production plan.
Depending on the agreement, outputs may include concept drawings, color/material/finish direction, structural proposals, feasibility and cost assessment, engineering drawings and a bill of materials, prototypes, approval samples and production standards. Your team participates in the brief, design choices, feedback and approvals. The agreement establishes which outputs and revision work are included.
For a design-led brand, this is the practical reason to consider Quick Wonder early: product decisions can be reviewed alongside the processes and production conditions needed to realize them.
Match the design to the material and process
Quick Wonder's eyewear manufacturing process overview covers acetate, metal, titanium and injection-molded frames. We can also assess mixed-material constructions against the proposed design.
For acetate, development connects the frame design with material preparation, CNC machining, polishing, joining and alignment. Shape, color, hardware and finish should be reviewed together when defining the sample. See our acetate frame manufacturing process for the production steps behind this review.
For metal and titanium, the engineering route includes the relevant welding or jigging, polishing, surface treatment and alignment work. The proposed construction, connections and finish determine what must be confirmed before sampling. Our titanium frame production process describes the engineering review, welding, finishing and alignment stages for that material.
For injection-molded frames, material, mold requirements, finishing and assembly form part of the feasibility review. The distinction between using an existing tool and creating new tooling also affects the planning reference below.
For mixed materials, share the intended construction and critical details at the outset. We assess the materials and their interfaces as a product rather than assuming that two supported material categories make every combination feasible.
The production route and any external specialist work are confirmed for the order. If a process must be performed in-house, identify it in the brief so we can assess that requirement explicitly.
Check style, color and development timing together
Our OEM planning references distinguish material category and new-tooling requirements. Both the style minimum and the color minimum matter.
In the table, “no / yes” gives the reference without new tooling first, followed by the reference when new tooling is required.
Material / category | MOQ per style, units | MOQ per color (pcs) | Sampling, days: new tooling no / yes | Mass production, days: new tooling no / yes |
Acetate | 300 | 100 | 30 / 45 | 90 / 90 |
Mid- to high-end metal | 300 | 100 | 30 / 60 | 90 / 90 |
Standard commercial metal styles | 600 | 200 | 30 / 45 | 90 / 90 |
Titanium | 300 | 100 | 30 / 60 | 90 / 100 |
Injection-molded | 1,200 | 300 | 20 / 45 | 60 / 60 |
Use the table to identify the relevant category, then send the quantity planned for every style and color. The references do not establish a fixed number of colors or permission to combine quantities across different styles. Components and packaging also need to be assessed in the quotation.
Next, confirm whether the design requires new tooling. For acetate projects, custom hinges, decorative pieces or temple core wires can extend tooling work. We review these details with the design because they can affect the route to an approved sample.
The figures are standard OEM planning references, with actual timing arranged for the project. Joint development needs its own plan for research, concept decisions, process exploration and prototype iterations. Its full development period cannot be inferred from the OEM sampling column.
Before mass production, the final approved sample, complete specifications, purchase order, agreed payment conditions and key materials must be ready. Changes to the design, material, components, colors or packaging can require revised samples, costs, minimum quantities or scheduling.
The quotation also defines development and sample fees, tooling, revision scope, testing, packaging and delivery costs. Those items need to be assessed alongside the manufacturing price when deciding whether to proceed.
Connect the approved product to manufacturing and checks
Quick Wonder's development work leads toward a product definition that manufacturing and inspection can use. Acceptance of a sample's appearance may close a design decision while other requirements remain open.
Production approval connects the physical sample to the applicable drawings, dimensions, bill of materials, material and color references, components, branding, packaging and quality criteria. Your team confirms those requirements in writing. We lock the production information and assess later changes before affected work continues. Our design-to-production workflow explains the stage responsibilities and approval gates in more detail.
Our quality controls include QA/QE sample review, IQC for incoming materials and components, IPQC during production, FQC for finished products and OQC before dispatch. The inspection method and acceptance criteria are agreed for the product.
An example of what an inspection records
An October 13, 2026 final-inspection record for acetate optical frames records the inspection of 13 frames, including dimensional checks, functional results and a defect entry. The following selected measurements omit customer and order identifiers.
Recorded dimension | Target, mm | Listed allowance, mm | Three recorded readings, mm | Recorded result |
A dimension, right side | 49.00 | 0.50 | 49.15 / 49.12 / 49.15 | PASS |
DBL | 16.00 | 0.50 | 16.15 / 16.16 / 16.05 | PASS |
The record also marks marking/stone adhesion, rim-lock opening and closing, and lens insertion/removal checks as PASS. It records one minor defect involving noise when flexing a temple. The AQL result is PASS; the final-result and shipment-status fields are unfilled.
This example shows the detail available in that inspection: a defined characteristic, reference value, measured result and recorded decision, alongside a defect entry. It supports those checks for that acetate inspection. It does not establish shipment release or a performance rate across other orders.
For your collection, we agree which dimensions, appearance attributes, functions and tests need to be checked against the approved product definition.
When to move forward with Quick Wonder
Quick Wonder is a suitable candidate when your team has a defined eyewear direction, needs engineering or development participation within our product scope, and can work with the relevant style and color minimums. Your team also needs to consolidate feedback and approve design, sample and production decisions.
A quantity below the relevant reference, a fixed rush date before technical review, a special material or component, or a requirement for every process to remain in-house needs separate assessment. These requirements can change the proposed development scope or whether the project fits.
Sample rounds, editable-file delivery, tooling arrangements, confidentiality and exclusivity are agreed for the project. For a U.S.-bound collection, include the intended product requirements, testing, labels and documentation in the brief so we can define the production and test-support responsibilities.
