This article focuses on Quick Wonder’s China-based development and manufacturing operations for optical frames and sunglasses through OEM, ODM and JDM cooperation. We are best suited to high-end and design-led brands developing custom acetate, metal or titanium collections that need engineering support, sample approval and coordinated production. Quick Wonder also operates a production base in Indonesia; the capabilities and project requirements discussed here apply to our China operations.
Our role connects material and process review with engineering information, physical samples, approved production requirements and agreed quality checks. For acetate, mid- to high-end metal and titanium projects, our OEM planning references are 300 pcs/style and 100 pcs/color. For injection-molded frames, the references are 1,200 pcs/style and 300 pcs/color. Other categories have different minimums, and development timing depends on the material, tooling and project scope.
For a brand choosing a high-end OEM/ODM eyewear manufacturer in China, the useful fit question is whether our capabilities, quantities and approval process match the collection you intend to produce. The sections below explain what we can undertake, how we develop a project and what our inspection records can substantiate.
What makes an eyewear project a fit for Quick Wonder?
Three decisions shape the initial assessment:
These are reasons to begin a manufacturing discussion. The next stage establishes the exact material grade, components, finish, production route, inspection criteria and commercial terms for your product. We review those details before confirming the production scope.
Materials and the manufacturing work behind them
Our eyewear production routes cover acetate, metal, titanium and injection-molded frames. We can also assess mixed-material construction. Your brief determines which processes are relevant and what needs to be resolved during engineering and sampling.
Acetate. Our scope includes engineering review, material preparation and baking, CNC work for frame fronts and temples, drum polishing, riveting or adhesive bonding, and alignment. Bring your intended shape, thickness, color and finish references so we can assess the construction and sampling requirements. The acetate manufacturing process provides more detail on this route.
Metal. We review feasibility and engineering requirements before welding and jigging, multi-stage polishing, surface treatment and alignment. The relevant metal, joints, hardware and finish need to be defined together. The MOQ categories below distinguish mid- to high-end metal projects from standard commercial metal styles.
Titanium. Our processing scope includes incoming-material review, laser or argon welding, polishing, surface treatment and alignment. Your material specification, joining requirements and finish form part of the technical discussion. Our titanium production route describes the main processing areas.
Other constructions. Injection projects involve molding, finishing, assembly, painting or baking, and alignment. Mixed-material frames require assessment of the complete construction, including interfaces, component fit and the finishing sequence.
Hangzhou handles headquarters and development coordination, while our Jiangxi and Wenzhou production operations have different manufacturing roles. Sampling and production locations are confirmed for the project. Specialist steps, including electroplating, may use external providers; we identify the proposed route and responsibilities within the agreed scope.
Start with the design information you already have
Our OEM, ODM and JDM capabilities support different levels of product readiness.
For OEM, bring your developed design. You supply technical drawings, specifications or an authorized physical reference, together with dimensions, materials, components, branding and performance requirements. We review manufacturability, materials, processes, tooling, cost and timing, then prepare or confirm engineering information and samples for your approval.
For ODM, define the collection and customization brief. You provide the target customer, category, price position, style preferences, quantity and launch needs. We propose relevant existing designs or product directions and assess changes to materials, color, finish, structure, logos, details and packaging. The agreed customization scope governs sampling and production.
For JDM, define the project jointly. Where the collection needs earlier concept work, we can contribute trend and process research, Italian and Quick Wonder design input, engineering and prototype iteration. The brief and agreement establish the deliverables, revision scope, rights and production objectives.
For each route, your team confirms the relevant design, materials, colors, components and samples in writing. Before production release, we link the approved product definition to the drawings, bill of materials, packaging and quality requirements. A later change is reviewed for its effect on feasibility, samples, price, minimum quantities and timing.
MOQ and timing by material and tooling requirement
Our OEM planning references distinguish minimum quantity per style from minimum quantity per color. Both conditions matter. The table also separates sample development from mass production and distinguishes projects that require new tooling.
Material / category | New tooling required? | MOQ per style, units | MOQ per color, units | Sampling, days | Mass production, days |
Acetate | No | 300 | 100 | 30 | 90 |
Acetate | Yes | 300 | 100 | 45 | 90 |
Metal: mid- to high-end | No | 300 | 100 | 30 | 90 |
Metal: mid- to high-end | Yes | 300 | 100 | 60 | 90 |
Metal: standard commercial styles | No | 600 | 200 | 30 | 90 |
Metal: standard commercial styles | Yes | 600 | 200 | 45 | 90 |
Titanium | No | 300 | 100 | 30 | 90 |
Titanium | Yes | 300 | 100 | 60 | 100 |
Injection-molded | No | 1,200 | 300 | 20 | 60 |
Injection-molded | Yes | 1,200 | 300 | 45 | 60 |
These are standard OEM planning references, with actual timing arranged for the project. They do not establish a fixed number of colors, permission to combine quantities across different styles or a universal schedule for every ODM or JDM development.
Send the planned quantity for each style and color. We review it against the material, construction, tooling, components and packaging before confirming a quotation. Custom hinges, decorative parts and temple components can affect tooling and development time. Mixed-material projects need their own assessment.
Production timing is confirmed against the final approved sample, complete specifications, purchase order, agreed payment conditions and key-material readiness. Your quotation should also define sample quantities, revision rounds, tooling and development charges, packaging, testing and delivery responsibilities. A requested design or material change can require a revised sample or schedule.
For a premium collection, this makes the starting commitment concrete: the relevant style and color minimums, a material-specific development route and enough time to resolve the product before production begins.
What our quality checks record
Quick Wonder's quality flow includes QA/QE review during sample development, IQC for incoming materials, IPQC during production, FQC for finished products and OQC before dispatch. The checks refer to the product definition and inspection requirements agreed for the order.
An actual October 13, 2026 acetate optical-frame inspection illustrates the detail a record can contain. The report lists an inspection quantity of 13 units, dimensional targets, listed allowances, three sets of measurement entries and functional-check results. Selected dimensional entries are reproduced below without customer or order identifiers.
Recorded dimension | Target, mm | Listed allowance, mm | Three recorded readings, mm | Reported result |
A dimension, right side | 49.00 | 0.50 | 49.15 / 49.12 / 49.15 | PASS |
DBL dimension | 16.00 | 0.50 | 16.15 / 16.16 / 16.05 | PASS |
The same record marks the listed marking/stone adhesion, rim-lock opening/closing and lens insertion/removal checks as PASS. It also records one minor defect involving noise when flexing a temple. The report's AQL result is PASS; its final-result and shipment-status fields are unfilled.
This example supports the measurements, functional results and defect entry recorded for that acetate inspection. It does not establish shipment release or a performance rate for other products. For your collection, we agree the relevant dimensions, appearance criteria, functions, inspection method and acceptance rules against the approved frame.
That is how a premium requirement becomes reviewable: a defined characteristic, a reference value or criterion, a recorded check and a decision within the agreed scope.
The conditions behind a good fit
Quick Wonder is a strong candidate to assess when your brand needs custom optical frames or sunglasses within our material scope, engineering or design participation, and a coordinated path through sampling and production. Your team should be able to define the collection, meet the applicable style and color minimums and consolidate approval decisions.
Some requirements need a separate discussion before we confirm feasibility: a mixed-material structure, a specified material source or component, a critical finish, new tooling, special packaging, product testing or a particular process that must be performed in-house. Share these requirements at the beginning.
Our standard development and production route is not intended for one-piece retail orders. A quantity below the relevant reference, a fixed rush date before technical review or a request for automatic design exclusivity also needs a separately agreed scope. Tooling rights, confidentiality, deliverables and exclusivity are recorded in the project agreement.
For a U.S.-bound program, include the destination market and required product specifications, tests, labels and documents in the brief. We confirm the production and test-support scope for the product; the quotation and project documents assign the relevant responsibilities.
